1. About This Site

SolarRatings.org is a solar-information and lead-generation service operated by Direct Home Holding Company LLC (d/b/a DirectSolar), trading as DirectSolar.ai. We provide independent editorial reviews of residential solar installers, educational content about solar energy, and a free quote-request tool that connects homeowners with licensed solar installation companies (“Service Professionals”).

We earn referral fees when homeowners request quotes through our site and are connected with a Service Professional. This compensation may influence which Service Professionals appear in sponsored placements, but it does not affect our editorial ratings or rankings, which are determined independently by our research team. 2. “Request a Quote” — How Your Data Is Used

When you submit a quote request using the estimator on this site, you are directing us to share your name, contact information, property address, and related details with up to five (5) Service Professionals who operate in your area. By submitting the form, you:

• Acknowledge that your personal information will be shared with third-party solar companies for the purpose of providing you with quotes;
• Provide your prior express written consent, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), to be contacted by SolarRatings.org and the Service Professionals by phone, text message, and email — including calls placed via automated dialing systems or prerecorded messages — at the number you provide;
• Understand that consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase; and
• Acknowledge that Service Professionals are independent companies and not employees or agents of SolarRatings.org.

This consent applies even if your number appears on any federal, state, internal, or corporate Do Not Call list. Calls between you and us may be recorded and monitored for quality assurance, training, and compliance purposes, as permitted by law; you should assume Service Professionals may record their calls with you as well.

You may opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information at any time via our privacy request form.

We cannot guarantee that any Service Professional will be capable of or willing to meet your needs, or that any Service Professional will respond to your request.

3. Ratings, Reviews, and Editorial Content

Installer ratings and star scores published on this site reflect the independent research and editorial judgment of our review team. They are informational only and do not constitute a professional recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee of quality, price, or service.

User-submitted reviews (where accepted) represent the opinions of individual homeowners and have not been independently verified by SolarRatings.org. We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove reviews that violate our content standards, contain false statements, or include personal information of third parties.

Installers cannot pay to alter, remove, or improve their editorial score or star rating.

4. Disclaimers — No Guarantee of Savings or Accuracy

Solar savings estimates, payback-period projections, and system-sizing recommendations generated by our tools are estimates only. They are based on general assumptions about utility rates, solar irradiance, and equipment performance, and do not account for your specific roof condition, local building codes, utility interconnection requirements, or other site-specific factors. Actual savings will vary.

SolarRatings.org makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content on this site. Content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as financial, tax, legal, or engineering advice. Consult a licensed professional for advice specific to your situation.

Incentive and tax-credit information (including federal ITC rates and state rebate programs) changes frequently. We update this information regularly but cannot guarantee it is current at the time you read it. Always verify incentive eligibility with your tax adviser and the relevant administering agency.

5. Information You Provide

You represent that all information you submit through this site is accurate, current, and your own. You must not submit personal information belonging to another individual without their express consent. Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent information may result in your account or access being suspended and could expose you to legal liability.

Knowingly submitting false information — including someone else's name, phone number, address, or email address, or a made-up identity — is a serious and potentially fraudulent act. It wastes the time and money of the Service Professionals who respond, can violate the privacy rights of the real owner of the contact information, and can expose SolarRatings.org and its partners to regulatory penalties. If you knowingly submit false or third-party information without authorization, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SolarRatings.org, Direct Home Holding Company LLC, and each affected Service Professional and individual from all resulting damages, claims, fines, and reasonable attorneys' fees.

By submitting content (such as a review or testimonial), you grant SolarRatings.org a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, and distribute that content on this site and in related marketing materials, with appropriate attribution.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use any automated scraper, crawler, or bot to collect data from this site without our prior written consent;
• Attempt to access, alter, or interfere with our systems, databases, or network infrastructure;
• Use the site to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial communications;
• Impersonate any person, company, or brand, or misrepresent your affiliation;
• Reproduce, republish, or redistribute our editorial content or installer ratings without written permission; or
• Use this site for any purpose that violates applicable federal, state, or local law.

The Services are provided for your personal, non-commercial use and are intended for residents of the United States. Commercial use of our content, data, or systems requires our prior written approval. We reserve the right to block or revoke access for users who violate these terms.

Using our content as a source

Journalists, researchers, and website owners are welcome to cite our articles, statistics, and graphics. To do so, credit the work to SolarRatings.org and link back to the page you are referencing. Bulk republication or commercial redistribution still requires written permission as described in Section 10.

7. How Service Professional Matching Works

When you submit a quote request, our system automatically matches your property details and ZIP code against a network of licensed solar installers who have contracted with DirectSolar.ai to receive leads. Matching criteria include installer service territory, license status, and capacity availability.

Service Professionals receive your contact information and property data and are responsible for reaching out to you with quotes. SolarRatings.org does not negotiate, review, or guarantee any quote, contract, or installation offer made by a Service Professional. Any agreement you enter into with a Service Professional is solely between you and that company.

Disputes with Service Professionals

Your rights under any contract you sign with a Service Professional are governed by that contract and by your state and local consumer-protection laws. If you have a dispute about a quote, contract, installation, or service, you must address it directly with that Service Professional. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release SolarRatings.org, Direct Home Holding Company LLC, and our employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or losses (including consequential and incidental damages) of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or connected with your dealings with any Service Professional.

8. Privacy Policy

Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and share it, and how to exercise your privacy rights including the right to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information.

9. Service Availability and “As Is” Disclaimer

This site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Direct Home Holding Company LLC (d/b/a DirectSolar, operating SolarRatings.org and DirectSolar.ai) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or any content or services obtained through it.

10. Intellectual Property

All original content on this site — including editorial reviews, scoring methodology descriptions, tool interfaces, and branding — is the property of Direct Home Holding Company LLC (operating DirectSolar.ai) or its licensors and is protected by copyright. You may share links to our pages and quote brief passages (with attribution) consistent with fair-use principles. Any other reproduction or commercial use requires written permission.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, the state in which Direct Home Holding Company LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the arbitration agreement below, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state courts located in Utah County, Utah, or the United States District Court for the District of Utah, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

Binding arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. Except for the small-claims carve-out below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, your use of the site, or any communications you receive as a result of a quote request (including any claim under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act) shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Small-claims carve-out: either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court in a court of competent jurisdiction instead of arbitration.

Class-action and jury-trial waiver: to the maximum extent permitted by law, you and we each waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. Claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims.

30-day right to opt out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@solarratings.org within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your name and contact information. Opting out of arbitration does not affect any other provision of these Terms.

Time limit on claims: to the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the site must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.
