Your Privacy Rights

SolarRatings.org collects your name, contact information, and property details when you request solar quotes. We share this information with solar installation companies (“Service Professionals”) who contact you with proposals — this counts as a sale and sharing of personal information under California's CCPA/CPRA and similar state privacy laws.

You have the right to opt out of this, request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it. Complete the form below. We will verify your identity by matching the email address you provide and respond within 45 days. Opt-out requests take effect within 15 business days of verification.

What Happens After You Submit

How we verify your identity

To protect your privacy, we verify that the email address you provide matches a record in our system. We may send a verification email to confirm the request came from you. We do not require a government-issued ID for standard requests.

Timeline

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and complete it within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will notify you and may extend the window by an additional 45 days.

What opt-out means

Opting out stops us from sharing your personal information with new Service Professionals (solar companies). It does not automatically retrieve data already shared with companies before your opt-out. We will forward your opt-out preference to Service Professionals who received your data within the preceding 90 days.

Authorized agent

California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on their behalf. The agent must provide written proof of authorization. Email privacy@solarratings.org for instructions.
